The Nissan Altima VS The Nissan Maxima

Image
When it comes to the Nissan lineup there is an impressive variation between compacts such as the Nissan Sentra, SUVís like the Nissan Murano and performance vehicles like the Nissan GT-R. However when it comes to sedans possibly Nissanís most popular style, they have what many people would consider to be the same car aside from a large price difference the Nissan Altima and Nissan Maxima. Both the Nissan Altima and Maxima are relatively the same size and shape boasting elegant lines throughout the vehicle and a smart interior design give both vehicles a comfortable feel.

Although in an attempt to distance itself from looking like the Maximaís twin, the Nissan Altima takes on a more straight forward look appealing more to the family friendly market, though the interior also becomes a more basic design and lacks some of the higher end feel you get from the Nissan Maxima. When it comes to shape and style the Nissan Maxima takes it with an arresting and bold shape and higher end features such as built in navigation and NissanConnect. Though both vehicles now only offer a CVT transmission which tends to be a turnoff for many people, both offer charming front-drive road manners swaying people from their irritation with the CVT transmission.

In its quest to separate itself from the Altima and the family friendly look, the Nissan Maxima takes on a stronger 3.5 liter V-6 engine and more sporty feel to it. Though when it comes to fuel economy the Nissan Altima is the clear winner getting 27 miles to the gallon city and 39 miles to the gallon highway as opposed to the Nissan Maxima receiving one 22 miles to the gallon city and 30 miles to the gallon highway. Both the Nissan Maxima and Nissan Altima boast high end style and feel, however if you are on a tight budget the Nissan Altima is a much more reasonable choice with an invoice price of $21,446 as opposed to the Nissan Maximas price of $30,354. When you boil everything down, both the Nissan Altima and Maxima are excellent choices for both families and young professionals alike.
